Designing Housing for Different Mobility Needs

This month Dorchester Bay participated in Enterprise’s “Aging in Place” charrette as part of the schematic design process for our Dudley Terrace property.

Aging in Place is a component of Enterprise’s Green Communities program. Although it is traditionally understood as designing for seniors, the charrette is a useful tool for designing healthy housing that supports people of different mobility capabilities.

Dudley Terrace was selected as part of Enterprise’s efforts to expand Aging in Place for non-senior developments and for rehab projects. Participating in the charrette was a great opportunity for the Dorchester Bay team and its partners to explore and prioritize different aging in place strategies that can be included as part of the rehab.

Thanks to Enterprise for making space for developers to reimagine real estate development, and thanks to our partners for participating in this process!
