Dorchester Bay Hires Jim McSherry, Director of Economic Development

Dorchester Bay is thrilled to announce the addition of Jim McSherry to the team as Director of Economic Development. Jim comes to Dorchester Bay from Enquiron, a Boston-based firm that provides virtual legal and compliance services on demand to more than 100,000 employers nationwide. Jim was Enquiron’s first CEO, and prior to that he worked as a real estate developer and consultant.

Jim was born and raised in Boston and earned his undergraduate degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois, and his MBA from Suffolk University. For more than a decade Jim put his undergraduate and graduate degrees to work planning and developing significant real estate projects for leading non-profits such as the Children’s Defense Fund (national headquarters in D.C.) and for the Girl Scouts and Head Start on projects nationwide. Closer to home, he developed affordable housing in Somerville and managed extensive renovations and conversion of property in Fitchburg into affordable housing, while congregating social services for teen mothers and their children.

Jim brings to Dorchester Bay a passion for non-profit and community work, exceptional business acumen and familiarity with the challenges of starting and growing a business, proven success in leadership development, and a level of energy and focus that will enable us to reach even higher levels of impact, particularly as we consider ways to marry our real estate work with our economic development activities.

A resident of the South End and a filmmaker as well as a businessperson, Jim has written, produced and directed two documentary films, La Verité du Ciel and Homeboy.
