“Our Tierra Livri” Community Visioning Meeting

Dorchester Bay, COEverythig, DVM Consulting, and Jonathan Garland Enterprises partnered to host a community meeting on April 20th to help shape our proposal for the future of “Our Tierra Livri” at 479 Dudley Street owned by Land Trust. It was a unique opportunity for 25 community members to share their visions for a community-owned commercial space as part of a new mixed-use project.

Uphams VIP Education Workshop

Dorchester Bay hosted an “Uphams VIP Education Workshop” in partnership with JVS Boston, Roxbury Community College, Asian American Civic Association, and the Cape Verdean Adult Center, with food provided by Restaurante Cesaria. Participants received resources and education around becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, working in construction, attending citizenship classes, learning English, boosting computer skills, earning an Associate's Degree, and much more. Tech Goes Home

Dorchester Bay’s ten-week Tech Goes Home program teaches tools and access to the technologies required for 21st-century skills development in a small, comfortable environment. Tech Goes Home currently has fifteen participants, ten of whom are Dorchester Bay Residents!

Restaurant Revenue Management Workshop

May 18 & May 25 | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

In this course from our Small Business team, restaurant owners will be guided through the restaurant revenue management process with real-world examples and strategies. They will explore the key inputs of space, time, and price to determine how to make appropriate trade-offs to maximize restaurant revenue.

Fairmont Indigo CDC Collaborative

Climate & Health Resident Mini-Grants - EXTENSION

FICC will be giving out grants to community members ranging from $250-$1,000 for their Climate & Health Resident Mini-Grant opportunity. These grants aim to increase resident and grassroots constituents' leadership by funding climate and environmental health related projects that address needs in the FICC service area (Dorchester, Mattapan, Roxbury, Hyde Park, & Roslindale). The application deadline has been extended to May 7th at 11:59pm.

Join FICC and their partners Union Capital Boston, Codman Square Health Center, and Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments for their final panelist discussion on climate change and our health.
