Youth Force Activists Testify Against Sub-minimum Wage, for $15 Wage

BOSTON, Mass., September 19, 2017 – Activists from the Dorchester Bay Youth Force testified against a teen sub-minimum wage at a hearing on raising the minimum wage in Massachusetts. Ashley Delva and Jeysaun Gants challenged business groups that advocate for lower minimum wages for youth workers.

The moving testimonies of Ashley and Jeysaun brought attendees to tears and impressed legislators. Jeysaun was one of the last people to testify but his testimony was especially powerful. Representative Paul Brodeur was particularly impressed with Jeysaun, and the youth activist received several invitations to speak at other events.
