Overview:

Spurred by our success at Bornstein & Pearl, Dorchester Bay recently embarked on a partnership with Boston Capital, Escazú Development, and Newmarket Community Partners to redevelop an abandoned light industrial site at 65 East Cottage Street, right next to the Uphams Corner station on the Fairmount / Indigo Commuter Rail Line. We and our partners have been designated as developer by the City of Boston, and have renamed the site Indigo Block. Our plans for the site include new construction of 80 units of mixed-income housing, 4 two-family homes, and 20,000 square feet of light industrial space. The light industrial building will provide space for up to 8 light manufacturing and office use businesses in a mass transit-accessible location. As with our previous light industrial projects, our mission at Indigo Block is to create jobs for local residents of Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan. We anticipate that we will package our financing in summer 2017, start construction in spring 2018, and complete the development in 2021.
